Workshop with Rising Young Stars
Have some fun working on material from a musical film on currently at the cinema – The Greatest Showman (based on the very famous musical, Barnum) about the life of the showman P T Barnum and the rise of the circus. So all budding jugglers, tightrope walkers, clowns, weight lifters and bearded ladies can all come along and join the fun!
Rising Youngstars (Junior Musical Theatre Group)
We offer children the unique experience of performing in shows onstage and a wonderful opportunity to realise their creative potential. During the whole process from the very first rehearsal right through to the final show all the children (and the adults helping) really do become a “family unit” working together towards a fantastic performance.
Founded in 2003 as a local community organisation, Rising Youngstars has always been run entirely by volunteers. With a committee of parents, we provide a platform for local youngsters (age 4-18 years), to experience taking part in full-scale musical theatre productions.
As well as the thrill of performing onstage, many of our young members also love getting involved offstage, in terms of making costumes, props, scenery, assisting with stage lighting, backstage and generally helping with much of the unseen, but essential work required during the production week.
With an ongoing membership of around 50 local children we are continually encouraged by the healthy team spirit and learning support that our youngstars show for each other irrespective of age, experience or background.
The group is financed entirely by our own fundraising events held throughout the year, run by the children and their families who are involved in each production. On occasion we have also been supported by local businesses and Angus Council for which we are extremely grateful. Of course much funding is also generated by our faithful audiences, without whose support we would not still be thriving.

Learn Laugh Play
Is a group where people can come along with their children and participate in various activities. This can include messy play, baking, cooking and crafty activities. We also have other organisations along to offer different advice or fun activities.
We will have messy play activities out and you can come along and make your own playdough and make some fruity faces. Bookbug songs and stories will also be part of the session. Some arts and crafts will be available and we will be looking for some scientists to take part in some science and maths fun!

Scottish Country Dancing -Scottish Country Dancing ticks all the boxes. It is fun, very sociable, excellent exercise, and a good challenge to the brain. With a good teacher, it all becomes easy, and with the great music, it is a delight.
There are two Scottish Country Dance clubs in Kirriemuir. The St Andrews Club meet in the St Andrews Church Hall in the Southmuir on Mondays, at 7.30pm, , with live music from Deirdre Adamson, taught by David McLean. The Northmuir Club, taught by Helen Ramsay meets 7.30pm on first, second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at Northmuir hall.
For the Feel Good Festival, we will be demonstrating some dances on the stage in the Town Hall at Noon and then letting people come and try out some simple dances in the Parish Church Hall at 1pm. Come along and have fun.

THE KIRRIEMUIR TEA DANCES. Later this year the Kirriemuir Tea Dancers will celebrate their 25th anniversary. It all started in October 1993 at the Town Hall and has carried on continuously since then, having moved first to the Seceder's Hall and then, when the numbers grew too large, to the Northmuir Hall in 1997. They meet every Thursday from September to April at 2pm and spend two hours happily doing a mixture of old-time, modern sequence, ceilidh and Scottish Country dances, pausing only for refreshments at half-time. To keep things fresh, new dances are introduced from time to time, demonstrated by Jim and Muriel Smith. You don't need a dancing partner and it doesn't matter if you haven't danced for years, or not at all. It is fun to learn in a friendly atmosphere amongst people who are just out to enjoy themselves. Interested? Then contact Jim Smith on 01575 574435 for more details. Whatever your age, come and join in the taster session at the Old Parish Church Hall from 3 to 4pm on Saturday, February 17th. Another feel-good event at the Kirriemuir Feel Good Festival.

Micro Pause with experienced Coach Liz Stewart
A moment to Stop - Reflect - Revive
Dare you Pay attention to yourself for 60/90 minutes?
Never have time? Always busy? Attending to family, friends, pets, cooking, cleaning. Ever finish the day feeling harassed or anxious? Then this Micro Pause of 60/90 minutes is perfect for you. Liz Stewart (PCC) is looking forward to taking you through several activities to help you slow down and pay attention to yourself.
Activity 1 – A “Big Question”
Once you have had time to settle down and be seated we will each choose a card. On the card is a question intended to help you focus on your hopes and dreams, perhaps notice what you are happy about, or be able to voice something you would like to change. Depending on the size of the group we may do this in pairs or share with the whole group.
Activity 2 - Body Scan – Liz will talk you steadily through a process to help you notice how you feel physically. This isn’t about changing or fixing anything. Purely to notice and listen to your body.
Activity 3 – Tapping and EFT – Liz will explain the difference between Tapping and EFT and show you a couple of approaches to help when you feel anxious or concerned.
If we have time.
Activity 4 – Letting Go – It’s been a busy time from Christmas to New Year and we are almost at the end of January already. Have you had a chance to reflect of the difficulties you have handled and to “Let them GO”? Liz will talk you through a visualisation. Let’s see if we can lighten your load.

Jonathan Brown, Brighter Coaching As an educator and philosophy graduate I have always been interested in how we learn and grow; this interest recently led me to complete an Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching with the International Centre for Business Coaching in St Andrews. In Saturday’s session, I am excited to share with you some practical and effective strategies for improving the quality of your life; but what does that mean? When trying to define ‘quality of life’ we can list things like our jobs, our bank balance, the car we drive or even our physical health. But we all know people who have these things and yet are still miserable! So, what is ‘quality of life’? Simply, your quality of life is the sum total of all the emotions that you feel in a given day! So, if you want to improve the quality of your life, improve the quality of the emotions that you feel on a daily basis! In Saturday’s session, we will explore the practical strategies and mental habits required for cultivating a greater quality of life. I look forward to seeing you there. www.brightercoaching.org
